The growth of carbon nanofibers from iron encapsulated dendritic catalysts under room temperature was investigated. The experiment was executed from the room temperature stirring of Fe@ dendrimer catalyst powder, electron deficient metal, and halogenated precursor in an organic solvent using standard glassware. The image was obtained after refluxing the as-deposited carbonaceous sample in nitric acid for 1h to remove the bulk amorphous carbon. HRTEM analysis before digestion confirmed the presence of only bulk amorphous carbon.
