Abstract

The main focus of this presentation will cover the unique resources and qualities of a new comprehensive bicycling education program that give it the opportunity to truly make a lasting impact on the riding skills, confidence, and fitness levels of middle school students. Many current bicycling education programs in schools don’t have enough skill accountability or instructional days to make a lasting impact on student riding and safety behaviors. In addition, the schools that implement the programs often lack the funding, support, and community resources to be sustainable and successful for multiple years.
