Abstract
At a time when SCM is gaining stature within the organization, many organizations face a critical supply chain talent void due to years of headcount reduction, training budget cuts, and the retirement of highly skilled individuals. Supply chain leaders must address this talent gap by assembling a team of talented professionals with skills that are core to the organization’s SCM mission. This can be achieved through the ongoing strategic talent acquisition process discussed in this publication: The Acquire Process.
(The online survey link for was distributed via email in June 2012 to SCM and HR professionals. Over the ensuing six weeks, 358 SCM and HR professionals completed the questionnaire which included the onboarding topic. In addition, a literature review, analysis of 90+ company websites, and case studies contributed to the knowledge base.)
