Abstract

eaching cello vibrato can be a challenge even for an experienced teacher. These challenges are compounded when teaching in a classroom setting. Many exercises and action studies can be introduced at the beginning of instruction to teach the motions involved in cello vibrato and build muscle memory. This presentation will provide a teaching sequence for the development of cello vibrato in beginning and intermediate cello students suitable for classroom use and private instruction.
