Abstract

The diversification of energy supply along with the renewable resources presently underutilized in United States was considered. One of the major reasons of dependence on the growing reliance with foreign imports was the government policies regarding the discovery, production, refining, and transport of energy. A set of guide lines were set up by the EPA for both the petroleum refining industry and the emissions allowed from the combustion of final products. Hydropower was the most heavily used of the renewable option. Two more technologies supported by the Department of energy (DOE) for the renewable of energy resources are hydrogen storage and high-temperature conductivity.
