Abstract

The reaction of trans-Mo(N2)2(Dppe)2 (Dppe = Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) with carbon monoxide gives, initially, the previously unknown trans-Mo(CO)2(Dppe)2, which isomerises in solution to the well-known cis isomer. The reaction was followed by IR spectroscopy under carbon monoxide pressure.
