Abstract
Angélica Gorodischer (Argentina) has engaged with various genres associated with feminism, science fiction, fantasy, magical realism, and mystery. Gorodischer’s masterful aesthetic in "Los embriones del violeta" defies generic definition and engages with issues of gender in innovative ways that deserve more critical attention. I complicate the categorization of Gorodischer’s work, which has often been relegated to the realm of science fiction, through an analysis of the role of gender, genre and science in "Los embriones del violeta."
