Abstract

The purpose of this panel discussion is to facilitate a dialogue between two orientations: (a) the theoretical emphasis of organizational communication scholars who study interorganizational collaboration in disaster response; and (b) the pragmatic emphasis of practitioners who respond and train others to respond to catastrophic events. The panel discussion will create the opportunity for panelists to learn about and respond to one another’s interests and concerns, thereby integrating their knowledge and modeling interdisciplinarity.
