Abstract

There are few service projects that resemble a phoenix theme – both intrinsically and extrinsically – such as this one. The labor that was completed by this group, even in a six day span, showed the transformation of the home where we all worked. More importantly, the week long effort showcased the transformation of lives of the people we served. Following a natural disaster, there is a feeling of being in a "Great Divide." Those that have lost their home feel alone and feel disconnected. It is through the efforts of family, friends, and volunteers that allow for “Bridges” to be built to alleviate the “Complexities” that now exist.
